Massachusetts Spring Fishing Report – Great Striped Bass and Haddock Fishing!

MBG Fishing Charters Have Begun and the Fishing is Great!
Massachusetts Spring Fishing – Striped Bass Charter Report:
We are off to an excellent start for the 2026 season! Plenty of striped bass have moved into our local nearshore waters, serving up some first class light tackle fishing. Most of the striped bass showing up are between 27″-45″. Our slot limit is 28-31″. All of our charters so far have been bringing home some fresh fish! We have had some light tackle top water fishing mixed with live and dead bait drifting. They seem to be showing up in full force and in migration mode.
Massachusetts Spring Fishing – Haddock and Bottom Fishing Report:
The bait is setting up nicely and good haddock fishing is within range of Scituate Harbor.
Take advantage of the great early season weather and fishing! The haddock limit this year is 15 fish at 17″+. Most of the fish have been large enough to keep and we have done well on our first haddock trips of the year. Our customers are bringing home a mix of haddock, pollock, and red fish fillets for some pan frying goodness!
We have availability for the rest of May and in June.
If you want to fish with us this year, do not wait to book for your best chance at prime season dates, tides, and moon phases!
Get yourself, your kids, friends, or co-workers out on the water chasing giant tuna, enjoy a light tackle striped bass fishing day, or get an early season meat trip scheduled.

Why go mixed party fishing on Line Shy?
Whether you’re looking to cross a massive Bluefin Tuna off your bucket list or just want to fill a cooler with fresh Haddock fillets, jumping on a mixed party trip aboard the Line Shy is one of the most accessible ways to get out on the water.
Chartering a private boat for a full day of offshore fishing is a major investment in time and planning. Mixed party trips completely change that dynamic. By splitting the boat with a handful of other like-minded anglers, you get the full experience of a world-class, professional sportfishing operation at a fraction of the cost. It’s the perfect setup for solo fishermen, pairs, or anyone whose schedule doesn’t line up with a full group of friends.
Every trip is built around the best bite of the season. Early morning departures might have you tracking schools of hard-fighting Striped Bass right along the coast, or steaming out to the productive offshore banks where Haddock are thick and the action is steady. For those looking for the ultimate adrenaline rush, the boat is fully rigged to go toe-to-toe with giant Bluefin Tuna—an experience that requires heavy-duty commercial gear and serious technical teamwork.
Onboard the Line Shy: it’s fast, comfortable, and highly focused platform designed for efficient fishing. You get plenty of space on the rail, top-tier tackle in your hands, and direct, hands-on instruction throughout the day. It’s a relaxed, productive day on the ocean where you can focus entirely on the fishing, swap a few stories, and let an experienced crew handle the navigation, rigging, and heavy lifting.
