We have been a family run charter fishing company since 1999.
We are located in Scituate, MA the closest harbor to all of Stellwagen Bank, Mass Bay, Cape Cod, and Boston areas which has some of the best fishing in the world.
Mass Bay Guides was started by Captain Greg Sears in 1999 as a private fishing guide business. Greg is a Massachusetts fisherman who has worked his from a stern man on a lobster boat to a USCG boatswains mate, and is now a licensed 100 Ton USCG Captain of his own charter boats. Greg was hired on several sport fishing boats to guide them on how to fish.
Once Greg purchased his first charter boat people from all over the place wanted to fish with him on his boat. Greg is now accompanied by his two sons, Taylor and Bryan Sears. Greg’s wife, Wendy, handles the majority of the bookings and scheduling. She will most likely be calling to confirm your trip with us!
The Sears Brothers (Bryan and Taylor) also have another company called SeaBros Fishing which is well known for their podcast, marine artwork, and seminars. They travel around talking fishing at local seminars and also provide consulting services through their SeaBros Fishing Patreon page. The Sears Brothers also grew up in Scituate as charter fishing guides and are now 100 Ton Licensed Captains that run the charter boats.
Our boats fish every day and are well known for their first hand knowledge of where the fishing is the best. Our captains and mates are full time fishermen and have fished the local waters their entire lives. We can even be found fishing on vacation and our days off.
This isn’t just a business; it’s a way of life passed down through generations.
We operate on the principle that a great day of fishing is about the experience as much as the haul. We believe in ethical fishing practices, preserving the vibrant marine life that sustains our livelihood, and ensuring a sustainable future for the sport we love.
