We thought it would be a great addition to our web site if we allowed our customers and fishing friends to join us and share fishing information around the world. You can join our community and share your fishing information or ask questions to other fishermen or guides. We have found this tool as useful as our VHF radio on the boats and works much the same way. You can leave Messages for your friends or any of Mass Bay Guides Captains and Mates and talk live by voice privately to exchange secret spots or talk about the next fishing trip. Or download important fishing information like receipts for booking charters or Pictures and charts from your trip. If no one is on the message board just leave a message and we will get it when we are online. NEW in 2009 with our new satellite network communications the boats will be streaming "almost" live video to the members of The Fishing Line. ( Keep reading before download )
What is Skype? : Skype is The New Wave in communication technology that you will see more and more. Familys and Busines people are using skype every day for all types of applications. Its known as the AIM of Busines. Skype has been in service since the early 2000's and is still growing. We use Skype for our outside USA toll free phone service. We recently have discovered other uses such as communicating with our customers and captains. Skype is much like Email except it also includes a phone you can leave voice mail or talk in person. Or you can leave real time messages like email or chat live with friends. At the same time we can conference up to 24 people. The best part of Skype is it's all FREE. Skype is as safe as any Google or AOL application and works with Face Book, AIM, Outlook and more. You will need to set your security as you would with AOL or Google when sharing information. You will need to download the Skype application Program a FREE software with lots of features. When you press the enter chat Button you will be prompted to download skype. Before you do download, Make sure you read about all the features you will be surprised at what you can use Skype for. Allow all Skype features do not worry we have been using this for a while there are no virus issues and is safe for your computer. ( Keep reading before download ) Who uses Skype : Military Personnel overseas use Skype to call home every day for free. College students use Skype to call home or trade homework information live for free. Merchant mariners use Skype when they are out at sea for free. Family's use Skype to talk around the world for free. Business use Skype to communicate around the world very cheap. Skype is safe for Outlook and Internet Explorer and AOL. Make sure you set your security settings on Skype they are automatically set for safe privacy. You do not need to download extras such as Google toolbars to use The Fishing Line. The Basic Skype software is Free and full of features. You do not need any Skype phone to phone services to use the fishing line. Also add Captain Greg or one of the other guides to your contacts after you join.
